This Blue Jay - who I have affectionately named "Bleublanc" after a beloved character from my favorite JRPG - has visited my yard many times since that peaceful snowy day last month. If I don't see him at least once in a day, I definitely hear him! 

On the afternoon that I shot these photos, he visited three times in the span of an hour, and for once I was able to capture his STUNNING feathers from outside of my house instead of through a dirty window. I'm especially proud of these shots because I did not rely on autofocus in order to get them; with how comfortable Bleublanc has become in my yard, I was able to take these by focusing manually. 

Having recently read that Blue Jay lore includes an association with the Underworld, I strongly felt like he was sending me a personal message, which I have yet to decipher, and peering into my soul. He has me absolutely captivated.
