As I mentioned in this post, I recently crocheted a birthday outfit for my daughter, Star. When I got her dressed and started to snap photos she was only interested in one thing: getting the shoes off as quickly as possible; and in the brief seconds where I did manage to distract her from having at least one shoe on her foot, I put on the wrong one and didn't notice until after the photoshoot had ended. I also ran out of time to get shots of the shoes in the same setting as I did the dress & purse. Because of that, there is a clear lack of shoe shots in this collection. There is no shortage of adorable photos of this precious girl doing everything with the shoes except for wear them on her feet, though, and I can't think of a better way to capture & remember this moment with my brand-new one-year-old in the special birthday outfit that her Mama made her.
This is hands-down my most favorite crochet project of all time - even topping the layette that I made Star before she was born (photos coming someday) - and I'm looking forward to trying out a new set of clothing pieces for her next year and every year until she decides she's too cool for mom's handmade things.
